The Michigan Treatment Court and Health Professionals Collaborative is comprised of representatives from the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS), Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals (MATCP), Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), Michigan Psychiatric Society (MPS), and The Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA).

Working together, we can bridge treatment courts and the health care community as a key component in addressing the opioid epidemic.

• Establish strong working relationships between treatment court and health care personnel.

• Educate health professionals about the purpose, effectiveness, and operational guidelines of treatment courts.

• Provide judges with insight on current medical standards of care.

• Foster strong interpersonal relationships that ensure courts and clinicians have the information needed to provide necessary treatment and support for persons with substance use disorders.

• Enhance communications and shared resources.

• Give professionals a platform to raise questions or concerns about processes and treatment options.
